Bring us home

I'm your fire
your water in the ocean
the air you breathe
your sun in the sky
I can be ev'rything
you'd ever want me to be
'cause you're my woman,
and...
you're ev'rything
I'd want you to be
'cause...
we're our fire,
our water in the ocean,
our air we breathe
sun in the sky,
our stepping stone
our rollin' stone
and it will roll an' roll
it will take us
wherever we want to go
and..
it
will bring us home

Long goodbye

walking down the bank of the river
where the sun's  out in the shine of the day
and
water's runnin' peacefully through the green
I know life's been good to me
yet, as I walk on
somethin' stirs , somethin's wrong
I lower myself on a nearby bench
and
think this is not gonna mend
my eyes breakin' I know I'm fucked

lookin' down on myself motionless
peacefull in my sleep of the 'Long goodbye'
I know life's just that fallin' star comin' to its end
I was just a moment in time and time
has no end

Old Cult Bizar

I smell,
the mystery in the air
it's ripe I pluck my hair
where priests have trodden

my feet do me bother
I've come from so far
to witness the old cult bizar

it;s ancient not Greek
you'll find weird signs
at a certain stage of the sun

will show you where to find
what is written down on the
stones of old

they don't grow cold
they're full of fire
for the first time Earth
discovered life they
learned to survive

they were learned those men
that build Stonehenge
it's little things that show
a butterfly not on the wing

carved in stone Stonhenge
his home, centuries past
it still lasts

there's no heaven
for the butterfly to roam
it will stay carved in the
old ways

it never moved
the priests of old
wouldn't approve

its magic is still around
even now the spell is cast
and men is bound

Five Fingers

I came in to town
when the sun was down
it didn't occur to me I'd meet
somebody right here in the street

He said, 'you're wearin' your belt low'
I don't want any trouble out of you
or you'll find yourself close
to a graveyard stone

Now I didn't want to displease
any of the good people here
as I was kinda dry inside
I stopped at the local saloon

Its name had a familiar ring
I stepped in with a swing
'Five Fingers' was there
ready to beat me to the draw

as I turned out he did but he missed
shot a hole in my left hand the hand
I could spend

for the right it was that killed him
actually not a shadow it was Ishot
I moved on as fast as I could

put distance between me and a lot o' hate
'cause 'Five Fingers' wasn't a game you
played

he was out on the hunt in his very own way
would he catch up he'd make me pay
I didn't want that, so I ran from the 'Hell Cat'

I hid in the tiniest hole, even 'Five Fingers'
couldn't find it on his own

Poor, poor heart

wounded in a particular place
where I hid a particular name
I reached the end of my capacity
to recover from this raging agony
it goes on and on an endless time
my poor, poor heart was on the line

what is to be done
lying down
in her naked sun
it overpowered me
as an incoming wave
I was told
there was no longer
a room or place for me
my poor, poor heart
almost jumped its case
I was so surprised
at what hit me at the time
my poor, poor heart
almost lost its mind

I gazed in disbelieve
at what was coming over me
a woman
perfect as far as I could see
wounded a particular place in me
something kept me alive
in these perilious times
irony it was, I was cured by someone
I, in many days hadn't thought of

finally when I came to rest
my poor, poor heart came apart
in tenthousand pieces,
collected one by one
by someone I hardly knew anything of
I was build, ev'ry second, minute
back to what I was
my poor, poor heart
mended from the past

Fading

Lately I notice my crowd's getting thin
my visits are no use  they're fading,

Ev'rytime I come to their door their eyes
have closed just that bit more. they're on
their last walk 'round the sun, they're going fast,
I can't run.

I'm staying behind all out of sight, left with
my colours old and grey, days are long now
and very pale

Waiting takes a long time they say

Tobacco Road

it's

a

midsummer, Sunday afternoon

sun's  high up in the sky at the sweat of the day

fields o' green dominate the vieuw, there's  a humm

a

song rises up, someone starts to sing about the only freedom he has

the

freedom

within

it's

a religious song, a powerfull song, a bearer of strenght

a

hymn

others pick up on it, start fallin' in

it sings about all the lost yesterdays and their tomorrows

then...

finds its way down 'Tobacco Road'

where its blues

never

end

More than mortal

timeless, priceless it seemed

when I returned from the womb

deep down in our world

I had learned how to love,

how to give,

not to anger

angels of knowledge

a heritage to this earth

how to humor them, how to mend them

a tool to my using

I

became more than mortal

death had no secrets

life danced at mu feet

seen many faces of the sun

saw beyond the moon

I

had the key to it all

yet, I didn't dare to unleash these powers

i posessed in to this innocent world

it was still an infant,

in its own right

not knowing what to choose

all I could do was, leave my love

and return when it had

matured

Heaven

Heaven

on a lazy Sunday afternoon

as I was walking along the river

I noticed the sun low in the sky

getting near the end of the day

so peacefully, gracefully dying

at that moment I became restful

burdens carried on my shoulder

seemed to leave me for a while

I sensed suddenly, nature took a rest

it took its time, leisurely came the night

and I melted down with the Universe

exploring the stars lighting up the sky

a calm had fallen upon me at midnight

I was alone, at peace down by the riverside

I realised, this was really the way to live

took a deep breath, feeling so right

the water calmly broke on the banks

heard the cricket play its song

a rowboat was there lying on its side

I rolled it over and set out on the river

I never felt so at ease rowing the boat

my worries had dropped in to the river

slowly I was getting there, to my litle heaven

and when I reached it, I recognised it

it was early in the morning at dawn

I returened  to the bank of the river

left the boat in the place where it belonged

walked back the path through the village

I had changed in to another man

finally I had found the pace of life

I was never to carry burdens again

they

had vanished at midnight on the river
