is not one of many

lived her insane life, reachin' out to the naked skies

 

time an' time reachin' for that side

 

where angels fly in their blindin' light

filled her days an' nights, maddening , demanding an' rough

 

a bird trying to catch the sun, she got burned on her last run

queen of birds living a short life, tried to catch the sun

 

never got close to that light

 

time was getting short in supply

 

a line was cast to the other side

 

booze was a torment, drugs a need

 

this lady couldn't budge or leave

 

an' yes she kiceld it aside for a clean life
