Blue, Blue, Heart

It's cold, wet an' dark, it's the time of the year

that turns your head in a downward spin

a

promise a 'cold, wet an' dark winter time blues'

will set in

 

starin' at your TV, sippin' some leftover wine

hoping it will turn for the better and... 

Christmass is of your mind

 

another year  will be standing guard

with its 'cold, wet and dark  heart',  yet

I discover a ray of light and... my

darkness is surprised

it is sunshine it reappears, clears up my sky,

clears up my mind and for a moment...my 'cold,

wet and dark blues' disappear are out of sight

 

I'm alive, singin', shinin' life's good for a while

with that other year, a new year singin' its song

standin' guard a promise my 'cold, wet an' dark

winter time blues' will choose to leave my

blue, blue heart

live an' tell

all I wanted
were precious things to put in my house
but they were beyond my means
beyond my dreams, beyond my reach
beyond the style I wanted live

now older, more mature
I now can buy, it is in my reach
now I find they're not the things I need
through time I was given things
worth more than style, house,
way of  life

can now enjoy  a good wine
enjoy a good conversation
enjoy a good nature
enjoy well meant compliments
enjoy an evening well spent
enjoy the company
of a well spoken woman

live with her a good life
even if it means living out of style
as long as the rent is paid
as long as there's food to take
as long as there's enough cake
even if it's the crumbs I ate

I don't feel out of place
I feel I still did well
to live an' tell

Lazy Love

there's an energy in my bones, I can feel it flow

 

as I'm drinkin' this wine not sacred not mine

 

I can feel it flow, feel a lazy love flow

 

and I couldn't  think of a better way

 

than to spend it with you

 

 

 

wishin' you the most possible happynesss you could have

 

let the flow never come to rest, let the feelin' grow

 

your hungry eyes touch my precious wine

 

feels the lazy love flow inside

you were there I was too

 

 

we felt it right from the start, a lazy love was risin' up

 

we didn't need much for it to live

 

we didn't care if it dwindeld a bit
